The other day my 16 year old sister, Brianna, (You may remember her from THIS post) and I had a little argument via text message (because how else are you going to argue with a 16 year old?). The conversation went something like this:
Bri: I want some fake glasses.
Me: Haha that’s funny cause I wish I didn’t always have to wear my real glasses! Contacts would be awesome, but my eyes hate them
Bri: Omgosh your glasses complete your look. It’s so hipster
Me: Aaaarrrgg!!! OMG! I’m not a hipster! I will say that some of them have style though 😉
Bri: 🙂 haha… Just accept it!
Me: NEVER!
Bri: 🙂 love you. lol
I have a feeling the denim vest I’m donning in this outfit is not going to help my case… But for real, I’m not wearing this vest ironically, I’m wearing it because it’s awesome! Denim vests are making a comeback (and not just for people who live in Portland and/or eat at restaurants that don’t have names). Check out Corinne over at Life Etc. (one of my new favorite blogs), she rocks her denim vest all the time, and she’s freaking adorable.
I asked my husband if he was on my side and he just made some pun about me being Blossom, and asked if I needed help finding my hat… Errg, he wouldn’t even know who Blossom was if I hadn’t told him about that show. That was a piece of 90s trivia that came back to bite be in the bum.
Oh well, what do you guys think, are denim vests something that should only be worn by hipsters and the stars of hit 90s sitcoms? Would YOU wear one?

I have a denim vest I picked up last summer and I liked wearing mine! I can’t wait to pull it out when it gets warmer again – even if it does kind of channel my 90’s youth, lol. I think you look great!

The weather has been SO weird here! Freezing, rainy, then it will hit like the 80s one day, and then go back to 40s the next… Make up your mind already!
Your glasses are really cute. Glasses definitely sound fun when you can’t wear them. I always wanted them when I didn’t need them, and now that I do I wear contacts.
I wish I could wear contacts, at least some of the time. But last time I tried my eyes fought back and it was NOT pretty.

Love the denim vest! I had a denim jacket in intermediate school, which is what’s been stopping me from getting one … but now I’m thinking a denim vest would be even more versatile. Also, I didn’t own one when I was 12. 😉
Totally versatile. I feel like a denim jacket is more of a warm weather piece of clothing, but with a denim vest, I feel like I can wear it all the time 🙂

i have the hardest time wearing vests… i just kind of forget about them? but, honestly? a denim vest isn’t really me. i’ve seen other people rock them and looking awesome, though!
I sometimes feel that way about vests too, but I think I want to step outside of my comfort zone and try some more 🙂
